Earlier this year, Georgia’s first Asian American focused women’s shelter opened its doors to provide a safe haven for women and children fleeing from abusive households. During this holiday season, Hanna’s House will be home for these women and children. Please take a moment to look through the shelter’s wish list and help us contribute in making Hanna’s House more of a home for these families.

GAAPICC Partner Seeking Mentors Print E-mail

GAAPICC Partner Culture Connect, Inc. are seeking mentors for their Go Betweener Program

Interested in helping a helping an immigrant or refugee child succeed in America?

The Go Betweener Mentoring Program matches immigrant/refugee youth, ages 7 – 17, with adults who speak the same language and share the same cultural background as well as the experience of being an immigrant or refugee. This way, the mentor truly understands what their mentee is going through, and can offer support and guidance in a way that no one else could.  Because growing up is hard enough and adjusting to a new culture makes it even harder, many immigrant and refugee youth are at particularly high risk of falling behind in school and becoming involved with alcohol/drugs or violence.   A mentor can help their mentee make sense of their experiences, provide additional support and guidance, identify talent and set goals, and be a positive role model.  If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, please call Hannah Manley at 404-292-8457 x4# or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

 We are especially looking for:

-5 Vietnamese men

-1 Vietnamese woman

-1 Russian man

-2 Cantonese speaking men

-2 Cantonese speaking women

-3 Latin American (Spanish-speaking) men

-1 Afghani man

Here are Links that give more information on the Mentoring Program:
